TWI Problem Solving Training provides a structured journey from symptom to cause and a lasting solution, helping prevent problems recurring on later shifts or in other teams.
TWI Problem Solving: a fact-based approach
The method develops leaders’ habits of isolating problems, gathering evidence, distinguishing cause types, selecting corrective actions and checking results. Responses therefore progress beyond temporary firefighting.
We connect the programme with the full Training Within Industry system and daily Lean Management. Further methodological context is available in eTWI materials.
The programme is designed for supervisors, team leaders, engineers and CI specialists who need a repeatable method for issues involving people, methods, materials and machines. Participants leave with a common problem definition, evidence-based cause analysis, clear ownership and verification criteria, making escalation and follow-up more consistent across shifts and departments.
We implement TWI Problem Solving through real gemba cases. After training, we review analysis quality, corrective action effectiveness and recurrence to develop a lasting problem-solving standard.
